Kellogg’s Presents IBA Hawaii’s Pro Tour Sandy Beach Challenge
September 6-7, 2014!
The third event of the Kellogg’s IBA Hawaii Pro Tour went off over the shallow sharp reef of half point in both lefts and rights. Over $10,000 in cash and prizes was handed out thanks to the support of Kellogg’s, Pepsi, Science Bodyboards, T&C Surf and Scott Hawaii. Jeff Hubbard in the last minute of the final won the Pro Mens division ahead of Guilherme Tamega from Brazil in a high performance battle to the end. The acrobatic crazy maneuvers were a testament to the epic sport of bodyboarding and the fun they have picking the ramps to pull off the crazy stunts they do. “We were able to do big airs”, said an excited Hubbard. ” The waves were shallow and punchy and it was real technical stuff. The talent level is unbelievable so I am stoked. I got the scores I needed in the last seconds of the semi and final, it was touch and go. It’s cool that all the best guys were here strutting their stuff, this was a major event for us.”
The series lends valuable points for the prestigious Pipeline event in February. Next Hawaii tour event is at Kea’au in December.

Drop Knee Division was stellar!
Sunday was the day for the drop knee and it was a perfect scene. Rights and lefts made for great rides over the shallow “koshi” rocks, (sashimi) rocks! The lefts came in a bit bigger and Dave Hubbard was there to claim the cover up and higher scores to take the title. It was young Sammy Morretino who stole show with the most cheers.
